STAR Servicios Lingüísticos has cause to celebrate

Fifteen years ago this January, STAR Servicios Lingüísticos opened its doors. On Saturday, 17 May, the company pulled out all the stops with a wide variety of activities and a reception at the Palau de la Música in Barcelona.

To thank everyone who has worked with us over the last 15 years and helped make us who we are today, the company invited former employees and freelancers to celebrate our anniversary.

The get-together started in the morning with a full programme of entertainment and cultural activities. We broke into groups for a guided tour of medieval Barcelona, which challenged everyone's knowledge of the city's history and culture. We had to search for signs, decipher symbols and solve puzzles: challenges not unlike those faced by translators every day.

A well-earned reward came afterwards, with a reception held at the Palau de la Música, in the unforgettable Lluís Millet Hall. The room, named after the founder of the Spanish choral society Orfeó Català, is located on the second floor, opposite the concert hall. Its outstanding beauty and double-height ceiling made it the perfect place for receiving our guests in style and celebrating the occasion with them. There were exquisite and varied cocktails aplenty, as well as wine, cava, pastries and birthday cake. The atmosphere was further enhanced by a live music trio.

People who had previously worked together yet never met had the opportunity to put a face to a name, and old acquaintances who hadn't been in touch for years were able to catch up – it wasn't long before stories of past successes and accomplishments were being shared. The event culminated in prizes being awarded to the groups who had logged the best times in the morning's activities, and a moving and endearing talk from our Director, Michael Scholand.

It was an unforgettable and beautiful celebration, worthy of the efforts made by so many people over the years. The team here at STAR wishes to express our deep gratitude to all those who have contributed to the company's growth during its first fifteen years. Thanks to them, we can now look towards the future, confident that we are going to be able to continue moving forward for many more years, laying the groundwork for the next celebration.
